hypertext

Hypertext is a series of text which links to other text - a network of linked narrative nodes - in fact, the way which you clicked to access this glossary entry is an example of hypertext.

interactive fiction

Genre of literature which uses player choice and agency to navigate the narrative. Examples might include a choose your own adventure book, parser based games or Twine stories.

multilinear

Refers to narratives which have multiple paths and potentially multiple outcomes.

StoryAuthor

Special passage containing data regarding the author/s of the Twine.

StoryTitle

Special passage which contains data regarding the title of the story.

special passages

Non-navigable passages which are used for meta-data, scripts or settings.
