Exersize 2: Creating a Basic Game
This exersize walks us through how to create a basic multilinear Twine game, with no programming! We will be creating a game about archaeologists in the field making decisions about the objects they are finding. You are encouraged to follow along with the exersize but apply your own flair to it, extend it further or play around with the structure as much as you want. Share your creations through the #archaeotwine tag on twitter.
In this exersize we will explore:
- How to link passages
- How to give the player decisions / choices
- How we can make these choices lead to different conclusions
Creating simple Twine games like this might be useful in an archaeological / heritage context for:
- Exploring choice or agency
- Plotting out interactions / decision points in a process
